"Santana Moss was named the Washington Redskins' offensive player of the year for the 2010 season Wednesday at the team's 50th annual Welcome Home Luncheon.
Moss, who last season recorded a career-high 93 catches for 1,115 yards and six touchdowns, was introduced by former Redskins receiver Gary Clark.
"I appreciate the opportunity to be a Redskin again and the chance to win this award," said Moss, who re-signed with the Redskins over the summer as a free agent.
Linebacker Brian Orakpo was named defensive player of the year. As a second-year pro, Orakpo recorded a team-high 8.5 sacks and made his second straight Pro Bowl appearance. Orapko was introduced by former standout linebacker Ravin Caldwell.
Initially, Orakpo apologized to last year's winner, London Fletcher.
"London, I'm sorry. London's won this award the past 20 years," Orakpo laughed.
"It's an absolute honor to win this award," Orakpo continued before concluding with a promise to the fans. "Win, lose or draw, you will see a hungry team, week in and week out.""
