"Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis Sanford is expected to return to the ice today after back spasms caused him to miss a start on Sunday in St. Louis and kept him out of practice yesterday.
"We left him off the ice to give him another day," coach Scott Arniel said. "It looks now, as long as everything is OK and he doesn't do anything sleeping or going to the kitchen or something, that he'll be in practice (today)."
Sanford was not on the bench in St. Louis. He remained in the dressing room so he could keep moving and stay loose if he was needed.
The Blue Jackets had a day off on Monday."
