"The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that safety Bob Sanders is scheduled to meet today with noted sports injury specialist Dr. James Andrews to determine the severity of his right arm injury.

The Colts said they will provide details after the surgeon's examination. The Colts did not confirm an ESPN report citing two team sources that Sanders has a torn biceps tendon and is out indefinitely, possibly for the season.

Sanders, who exited late in the first quarter of Sunday's 34-24 loss at Houston, was scheduled to have a magnetic imaging resonance exam Monday, the team said.

He participated in the Colts' light late-afternoon workout, which raised optimism the injury was not serious. But several reports, including one citing two team sources, categorized the oft-injured safety's status as out indefinitely.
