"The Sharks will announce Friday morning that Logan Couture has been given a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Teal through the 2013-14 season, making sure their rising young center isn't going anywhere else anytime soon.

Couture, who is owed $1.25 million this season on the final year of his existing deal, was due to become a restricted free agent next July 1.

The extension, which was first reported by Comcast Sports Bay Area, means the Sharks have locked up another key member of the team's core for the next few seasons."
