"The Sharks are close to signing free-agent forward Jamal Mayers, the team announced on its website Tuesday.
Mayers, 35, had three goals and 11 assists in 71 games with Toronto and Calgary last season. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound forward spent the first 10 of his 12 NHL seasons with the St. Louis Blues."
