"Jeremy Shockey was so miserable the last time he had to miss a Super Bowl that it ruined his relationship with the Giants. So just imagine how miserable he'll be if he has to miss this one, too.

That's a possibility thanks to the injured right knee the Saints tight end suffered in the divisional playoffs two weeks ago. He played in the NFC Championship Game, but was used sparingly and wasn't effective.

Then, on Tuesday, he was sent to see Dr James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., for what coach Sean Payton called a "recheck" of the injury. Both Payton and Shockey said the exam "went well" and they hope he'll be healthy enough to help the Saints in Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday night.

"The last two games you guys have seen me play wasn't really me," Shockey said last week. "I was out there on one leg. I felt like a pogo stick. This week I'll have two pogo sticks instead of one.
