"The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to one-year contracts with veteran players who will give them depth in Rochester, the team announced Tuesday afternoon in a press release.

According to General Manager Darcy Regier, left wing Michael Ryan will return to the organization and center Paul Szczechura, who has spent some time in the NHL with the Tampa Bay Lightning, will join the team after spending last season with the Norfolk Admirals.

The 31-year-old Ryan spent five seasons, from 2003 to 2007, with the Sabres organization. During that time, he appeared in 65 games with the Sabres and collected 13 points (7+6). In 210 career games with Rochester, Ryan amassed 122 points (56+66)."
