The Milwaukee Brewers' clubhouse at Miller Park was overrun by media and cameras late Tuesday night.

It had nothing to do with the team's just-completed 4-3, 10-inning victory over the Oakland A's, however.

The circus was a result of a report earlier in the evening from ESPN which stated Major League Baseball was seeking to suspend Braun and a number of other players connected to the Biogenesis clinic in Miami.

Braun, who went 1 for 5 in the game, eventually made his way to his locker.

Surrounded by microphones and cameras, he opened with a statement.

"I assume I know why everybody's here," he said. "I've already addressed everything related to the Miami situation. I addressed it in spring training. I will not make any further statements about it. The truth has not changed.

"I don't know the specifics of the story that came out today. I've already addressed it, I've already commented on it and I'll say nothing further about it. I hope that you guys can respect that."

Braun was asked a handful of follow-up questions, some of which he answered.

First, he was asked if the report was on his mind during the game.

"No, of course not," he said. "I've dealt with it for two years, off and on. The last year and a half, I guess. I think I'm pretty good at avoiding distractions."

Braun then was asked when he was made aware of the story.

"I found out afterward," he said. "Our PR department made me aware. I haven't read the story or heard any of the specifics about it. But they told me after the game."

Braun was also asked about the challenge of playing while the appeals process played out, and now this current investigation.

"We all deal with challenges in life," he said. "I think for all of us as baseball players there's challenges. Whether it's your family situation, relationship situation, all kinds of things that come up throughout the course of the season, all of us have a job to do regardless of what those distractions are.

"Obviously this hasn't been fun. It's not easy. It's not something I enjoy. But regardless, I have a job to do and I do my best to do that job every day."

Finally, Braun was asked if he had a message for his fans.

"I mean, I've always appreciated everybody's support," he said. "It's something that means a lot to me, and as I've said many times when you deal with adversity you see who's really in your corner.

"So certainly, I appreciate everybody's support."
