The Milwaukee Brewers will open their nine-game road trip against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park without Ryan Braun, who is out of the lineup tonight.

Braun was pulled from yesterday's win over the Philadelphia Phillies after his bothersome right thumb flared up again, so this doesn't come as a big surprise.

We'll have to see if Braun sits another game here, or maybe the next two as well with an off-day Thursday in an attempt to get it under control.

Logan Schafer gets the start in Braun's place.

Yovani Gallardo takes the mound for the Brewers, and he needs just four strikeouts to reach 1,000 for his career.

That ranks third in Brewers history behind Ben Sheets (1,206) and Teddy Higuera (1,081).
