"Magic starting power forward Ryan Anderson missed Friday night's game against the New Orleans Hornets after getting kicked by a former teammate.

Coach Stan Van Gundy said that Anderson was inadvertently kicked in the leg Thursday night by Boston Celtics power forward Brandon Bass, oddly enough.

Bass shared time with Anderson at power forward in Orlando last season, and he was dealt to the Boston Celtics in a sign-and-trade deal involving Glen Davis after the lockout ended.

Van Gundy said he hoped that Anderson can play Sunday night when the Magic play host to the Indiana Pacers.

"He's really, really sore. He'll probably be a couple days. We'll be hopeful for the weekend, but we're not sure," Van Gundy said."
