"The Royals have granted the release of minor-league right-hander Mario Santiago, a move that will allow Santiago to sign with SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Santiago, who will turn 27 on Friday, recorded a 3.70 ERA in 35 appearances (11 starts) in 2011 while splitting time between Class AAA Omaha and Class AA Northwest Arkansas. In 2010, he helped Northwest Arkansas to the Texas League title while compiling a 6-6 record with a 3.56 ERA in 18 games (17 starts) for the Naturals."
