Romo won't blame injury for pain of loss

"Tony Romo was hurting after the game, but it had nothing to do with his hand. Romo's injured right hand still was swollen and discolored eight days after he hit it on the helmet of an Eagles defensive end, but the pain Romo felt had nothing to do with the hand and everything to do with the 31-14 loss to the Giants, which ended the Cowboys' season."The guys fought really hard to get back in this football game," Romo said. "It's not a good feeling right now. After you lose, it's... You put so much time and effort into being out here and playing your best. We obviously didn't come out and play our best football. We need to continue to get better and improve, and we will this off-season."He went 29 for 37 for 289 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. It wasn't enough."I'm sure it did [bother him], but he handled it well all week," Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said of Romo's injury. "He threw all week during practice. I think he's shown the mental toughness that we all know that he has. That's a lot of being physically tough, too. They did a good job of getting a pass rush. It didn't seem like he had a whole lot of time."Romo injured his throwing hand on the fourth play of the Cowboys' loss to the Eagles last week. He didn't take any snaps from center all week and was limited in practice. His swollen hand obviously bothered him Sunday, though he wouldn't use it as an excuse.Romo did everything left-handed except throw."
