"The Steelers listed quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as a limited participant in practice Friday. He didn't practice Thursday. Roethlisberger is nursing a high-ankle sprain, and coach Mike Tomlin has said he needs to practice at least once, if only in a limited capacity, to play Monday night in San Francisco. The Steelers hold their final practice of the week today. Roethlisberger was not in the Steelers' locker room yesterday while it was open to reporters. He availability Monday could be a game-time decision.

• Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey, who also is nursing a high-ankle sprain, did not practice yesterday. Also missing practice for a second consecutive day were strong safety Troy Polamalu (hamstring), receiver Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and outside linebacker Chris Carter (hamstring). Receiver Arnaz Battle (hamstring) and cornerback Curtis Brown (knee) were limited in practice for a second day in a row."
