"Just a few hours after the Falcons thrilling 39-32 victory over Cincinnati on Sunday, wide receiver Roddy White had a message for his almost 8,000 followers on Twitter.com.
"Don't worry Falcon Nation [I've] got a lot more to give [you]," White tweeted.
It's hard to imagine how the two-time Pro Bowler could top the 11-catch, 201-yard and two-touchdown performance. But then, he's not one to be easily satisfied.
White was a little bit ticked about failing to break the team record of 210 yards that he set last season against San Francisco. The 201-yard showing was still the second-best day in the team's history. Terance Mathis had a 198-yard game in 1998.
White added to his franchise record for most 100-yard games, which now stands at 21.
With a league-leading 54 catches for 747 yards through seven games, White is on pace to catch 123 passes, which would shatter Mathis' team record of 111, set in 1994. White already owns the Falcons record for most yard receiving in a season, recording 1,382 in 2008.
"I had a little chip on my shoulder playing against those guys," White said, referring to Cincinnati receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, who have 12 Pro Bowl appearances between them. "Just knowing how good those guys have been over the years, anytime you get a chance to compete, you want to be on top of your game."
On Sunday, White also moved past Alfred Jenkins (360 career catches, 1975-1983) into third place on the team's all-time receptions list. White now has 369 catches. Mathis is the franchise leader with 573 (1994-2001), followed by Andre Rison at 423 (1990-94).
White had several spectacular catches against the Bengals. He made a one-handed one over cornerback Adam Jones out of necessity."
