Even in a win, the Rockies lose. Colorado spent the better part of three hours Wednesday clobbering the Astros 13-5 for their third consecutive victory, then spent the night wondering if Troy Tulowitzki will avoid the disabled list.
Carlos Gonzalez made like Reggie Jackson in the 1977 World Series, homering in three consecutive at-bats. He's the first Rockie to pull that off since Jeff Baker on Sept. 17-18, the outfielder all but booking his first All-Star Game appearance in Kansas City next month.
"When you work hard good things happen," Gonzalez said. "I am still aggressive, but learning to be patient when I need to be."
