Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki left a game early Wednesday in Coloradp Springs after appearing to aggravate a left groin injury.

Tulowitzki returned to Denver to be re-evaluated by doctors, but the re-injury will likely push back his return date to the Rockies.

Tulowitzki — who was playing his first game of a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs — hit a two-run homer in his first at-bat and singled in his second trip to the plate. But he exited for a pinch runner following his last at-bat.

After his line-drive single up the middle, Tulowitzki acted as if he was going to tag-up from first base on a long fly ball to center field. He ran a few steps, but when he returned to the base, he removed himself from the game in the third inning.
