Rockies' steady reliever Belisle gets one-year extension

"When it comes to relievers, reliability is the best ability. Over the past few seasons, Matt Belisle has been among the Rockies' most consistent performers. The Rockies awarded the right-hander with a one-year contract extension Friday with a mutual option for 2014.

Belisle, 31, went 10-4 last season with a 3.25 ERA in 72 innings. He is entering the final year of a two-year, $6.13 million deal.

Over the last two years, the right-hander has been a stabilizing force in the bullpen, pitching multiple innings while working primarily as a setup man. He's appeared in 150 games the past two years, going 17-9 with a 3.07 ERA."
