The Rockies have placed outfielder Carlos Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list with left finger inflammation, the team announced. The injury has been lingering for a little while now.

Gonzalez, 28, missed most of the second half last year with a sprain on his right finger. He has hit .255/.307/.449 (95 OPS+) with eight home runs in 52 games this season. CarGo has not played in more than 135 games since 2010.

Colorado also designated utility man Jordan Pacheco for assignment. The 28-year-old had a .236/.300/.347 (69 OPS+) in 22 games this year. Infielder Ryan Wheeler and catcher Mike McKenry were called up in corresponding moves.
