Forward Chandler Parsons said the back spasms he has been experiencing for a week are like nothing he has felt.

But Parsons said he will continue to play through the pain.

On Saturday night, Parsons didn’t look like someone hurting. He had 20 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 122-111 win over the Nuggets.

He is getting treatment for his back daily but said the problem isn’t likely to disappear.

“I have never had back spasms before, but it is something that will linger because I am going to play through it and not sit out of games,” Parsons said. “I like competing way too much. I will continue to do rehab and hopefully it will settle down.”

Greg Smith, who sprained his knee against New York on Thursday, did not play. He said he could miss seven to 10 days.

Howard finds touch at line

Once again Saturday night, the opposition resorted to the “Hack-a-Howard” tactic in the fourth quarter.

This time, against the Nuggets, though, Dwight Howard responded well.

He made 13-of-19 free-throw tries during the span he was sent to the line on purpose. He finished 17-of-24 from the line and had 25 points.
