Jaguars coach Bradley welcomed Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino to the stadium last week to speak to the team.

Pitino talked and answered questions for 75 minutes, met with the coaching staff and had lunch with Bradley before driving up to Amelia Island for the ACC meetings.

“[Pitino was] actually one of the best speakers I’ve heard in a long time in terms of talking about his experience and what he’s learned,” cornerback Alan Ball said. “It was important to hear from him how he got to this point, what he’s learned and what his mistakes were, too. It was definitely powerful hearing his story and how he’s put things together.”

Tight end Marcedes Lewis called listening to Pitino a “great experience.”

“It kind of reminded me when I was at UCLA and John Wooden spoke to the football team,” Lewis said. “You can get a lot of wisdom from somebody like [Pitino] because of the trials and tribulations that have made him a better man. The kind of energy he brought coincides with the message that Gus sends to us. Everybody in the room was all eyes and ears.”
