"Rich Harden returns tonight to the place where his major-league career began, and the Texas Rangers' right-hander said he will have an extra dose of motivation when he starts for the first time against the Oakland Athletics. The right-hander was traded by Oakland to the Chicago Cubs in 2008. He went 36-19 with the A's, but was plagued by injuries in 2006 and 2007.He enjoys pitching at the spacious Oakland Coliseum, and will enjoy facing Oakland."You want to do well every game out there, but maybe a little more because it is your old team," Harden said. "It's going to be fun to get back there."Harden is also going to take the Nuke LaLoosh approach to pitching to the mound. Rather than constantly concerning himself with his mechanics, which he is continuing to refine, he's just going to pitch. His work on getting more extension through his pitches continued last week. Harden earned his first victory of the season Wednesday, but he wasn't pleased with five walks and two hit batsmen."
