As the Yankees continue to monitor the second and third base markets, the team have 'discussed' the possibility of signing Mike Moustakas, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag sports.

Heyman also notes that the Yankees would likely have to move contracts if they wish to pursue Moustakas considering that he would cost more than their current budget would allow.

Moustakas hit .272/.314/.521 with a career-high 38 HR and 85 RBI in 148 games last season for the Royals. He was worth -8 DRS at third base after being a positive defender at the position in 2015 and 2016.
