Former Texas Longhorns great Vince Young will retire, according to KXAN-TV in Austin.

“It’s definitely official I think in my book,” Young told the station at his annual football camp in Round Rock. “Unless we get a great opportunity, something guaranteed…other than that I’ve started moving forward in some things.”

“I love the NFL, will love the game always but I’m kind of moving forward and moving on right now.”
The third overall selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, Young spent five years with the Titans before being cut in 2010. He spent a season as a backup for the Eagles in 2011 and went to training camp with the Packers in 2011 and the Bills in 2012 but was cut in training camp both times. Most recently he spent mini-camp with the Browns, but was cut less than two weeks after signing.
