"The Phillies have agreed to a deal with former Rookie of the Year Dontrelle Willis on a one-year contract, according to sources.
Willis, who was an all-star in 2003 and 2005, should fill a need for a second left-handed reliever in the Phillies bullpen and comes at a low cost, with ESPN reporting the deal is for less than $1 million plus incentives.
Willis burst onto the scene in 2003, going 14-6 with a 3.30 ERA and helping the Marlins to a World Series title. Two years later, he won 22 games with a 2.63 ERA and appeared to be one of the best young pitchers in baseball."
