"Carlos Zambrano, the pending ex-Cub pitcher, and Ozzie Guillen, the freshly ex-White Sox manager, recently talked by phone about fulfilling widespread speculation about Zambrano pitching for the Miami Marlins and their new manager, according to a report in Venezuelan publication El Nacional.

Guillen told the Sun-Times on the day he was named Marlins manager last week that he had talked with front-office officials about some potentially available players from Chicago, presumably including Zambrano, a longtime family friend of the Guillens."
