"First it was the Chicago Bulls , then the L.A. Clippers, then the San Antonio Spurs. Now, add the New Jersey Nets to the list of teams Caron Butler has met with this offseason.
According to a report by the New York Daily News , Butler met with Nets officials on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of teaming up with The Colony's Deron Williams in New Jersey. Though the Nets finished 24-58 last season, tied for the fifth-worst record in the NBA, the team is under the salary cap, meaning it could offer Butler more than Chicago or San Antonio. Because both the Bulls and Spurs are over the cap, the most they can offer Butler is the $5 million per year mid-level exception."
