"For the most part, the NFL has avoided a tremendous run of players getting in trouble with the law while not under team supervision. (Kenny Britt being the exception of course.) However, the report that Cedric Benson was arrested in Austin early Sunday morning, though, won't help that cause.

Ricky Doyle, the sports director at Your News Now in Austin reports that Benson was arrested "early [Sunday] morning" and charged with "assault on a family member."

Per Doyle, Benson is currently in Travis County Jail and is facing a Class A misdemeanor. "
