"Lions running back Kevin Smith hasn't met with the local media since the end of last season. But he looked to be in pretty good shape last week when he was seen briefly at the team's practice facility in Allen Park. And by all accounts, his rehab from December surgery to repair a torn ACL is going well.
Smith reiterated that on his blog Wednesday, writing, "My leg is feeling good and I think I'm right on schedule." He says he can do "almost everything except run" in his rehab. But he also talks about the difficulty that comes with rehabbing from a serious knee injury.
"A lot of rehab is mental," Smith writes. "It's not painful, it's more of a fatigue feeling in your muscles. There are no days off when you're rehabbing a torn ACL and it can get to you if you let it.""
