"Reggie Bush has worn No. 25 for all of his NFL career, but it seems he's retiring the number, which became available yesterday when the Miami Dolphins released veteran cornerback Will Allen.
I've been asked 6,000 times (not exaggerating either) if Bush plans to switch numbers, ditching 22 for 25.
I'm pleased to report to those who have already purchased No. 22 that your money has not been wasted. Bush said he's sticking with No. 22 for the second chapter of his NFL career, which will take place with the Dolphins.
"No, I'm not switching back to #25. I'm gonna keep 22," Bush said on his twitter account, @Reggie_Bush. "I think it represents change! Change can be a good thing! Let's go Dolphins."
For those wondering, I project Bush will account for about 1,400 yards of total offense in 2011 as the Dolphins' featured back, but only if he stays healthy for all 16 games.
A statistical study indicates Bush should contribute about 87 yards off offense per game this season."
