The Redskins have retained the services of another one of their own free agents, signing right tackle Tyler Polumbus to a two-year deal.

Polumbus announced the news via Twitter on Monday afternoon, saying, “Well Jacksonville was tempting…but I couldn’t leave these Coaches and Teammates. 2 more years!”

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the agreement between Washington and the five-year veteran.

The negotiations between the Redskins and Polumbus, who last season started 16 of 17 games at right tackle, had proceeded slowly. Polumbus received word from coaches of the team’s continued interest in him, however.

Last Thursday he traveled to Jacksonville, where the Jaguars also were interested in his services. But he ultimately decided to return to Washington.
