Not since the Detroit Red Wings were defeated 4-1 by the Calgary Flames back on Nov. 3 had they lost a home game, and now they need just three more victories to supplant the 1929-30 Boston Bruins and 1975-76 Philadelphia Flyers as the record holders.

The trouble was the Oilers didn't even make it a fair fight. Detroit just rolled right over a disengaged Edmonton squad on Wednesday night, scoring a 4-2 victory while stretching their streak to 18 consecutive home victories."
