Next up on the to-do list for Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland is working out deals with forward Tomas Tatar and defenseman Danny DeKeyser, both restricted free agents. It could take a while to come to an agreement with both players.

“We’ve talked and continue to talk, but nothing close,” Holland said Friday.

Holland said he made Tatar an offer recently that is being mulled over.

“Tats is overseas, and I’m waiting to hear back,” Holland said. “On the DeKeyser front, we met them in early June. We talked briefly at the draft, and we haven’t really talked much in July. I’ve made what I think are pretty good offers. They haven’t really countered. We’re just in the waiting process.”

DeKeyser, 24, scored four goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 65 games last season, his first full season in the NHL. He had no points in five playoff games.

Tatar, 23, has 24 goals and 23 assists for 47 points in 100 career NHL games. In his first full season with the Wings last season, he scored 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points in 73 games. He had no points in the playoffs.
