Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock would love to still have Brad Stuart as an option, but as it is, Babcock is the most pleased he's been all season with his own defense.

The Wings take on the Sharks at HP Pavilion tonight (10:30 p.m., FSD), hoping to restart a winning streak after losing a tough 2-1 game Wednesday at Los Angeles.

The only change will come in goal, where the clock is still ticking on Jonas Gustavsson making his first start of the season after nursing a tender groin that's scuttled his previous scheduled starts.

"It wouldn't hurt to see him play," Babcock said. "I think it's important your starting goalie doesn't have to play every night. The other thing is, it's a real good opportunity for him. We need a win on the road and he's capable of doing that. Get in there and play like you can."
