Patrick Eaves the Red Wings forward and penalty-killer will likely miss two to four weeks because both a sprained ankle and MCL suffered at practice on Thursday general manager Ken Holland said.

With the Red Wings preparing to play the Bruins at 7 p.m. Saturday and the Blackhawks at 5 p.m. Sunday in their next two exhibition games before the start of the season Oct. 2 against Buffalo Holland indicated the other injuries are minor.

Jakub Kindl said he is feeling better after injuring a right hip flexor in a rut on the ice during the second period in Boston on Thursday. Kindl said he needs only a bit of rest and treatment and Holland said he expects the young defenseman who assumed a significantly more prominent role with the Red Wings beginning last season to miss both games this weekend.
