Former Orlando Dr. Phillips running back Dee Hart confirmed Wednesday afternoon that he is officially transferring to Colorado State to finish his college football career.

Hart, who graduated from Alabama in June, had left the Crimson Tide football program and was looking for a new beginning after working through two knee injuries and dealing with a brush with Tuscaloosa law enforcement last February.

Hart confirmed via text message to the Sentinel Wednesday that he was headed to CSU and was "bout to leave Orlando now."

The 5-foot 9, 190-pound running back saw little playing time during his three years at Alabama, but the former high school football All-American, who was named the U.S. Army's national player of the year in 2010, should give Rams' fans something to be excited about this season. He should be eligible to play immediately at Colorado State after earning his Alabama degree.
