Despite the disappointing 3-9 record in Bret Bielema's debut season at Arkansas , five-star tailback Alex Collins was the opposite of disappointing in his freshman campaign; the Fort Lauderdale product rushed for better than 1,000 yards and 5.4 yards per-carry despite opposing defenses concentrating heavily on stopping the Hog ground game.
But Collins' 2014 is off to a somewhat rockier start. Bret Bielema anounced Monday that Collins has been suspended from team activities for one week, though he's still expected to meet with strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert.

Bielema declined to offer his reasoning for the suspension, though he said it was not football-related and perhaps suggested it had something to do with Collins's use of social media. He has maintained an active Twitter account.

"Alex will be out this week, see how he handles this week and get ourselves moving forward," Bielema said, per "He's been removed from all social media until further notice. He's a tremendous young man that has to step up in certain areas to get where we want to be and I think he'll do that."
