On July 29 the Tampa Bay Rays acquired relief pitcher Jesse Crain from the Chicago White Sox for either a player to be named later or cash considerations.

On September 23 Jesse Crain was finally activated and joined the Rays active roster the club announced.

In between Crain was dealing with a right shoulder strain. In fact he hasn't pitched since June 29 due to the shoulder issue. The 32 year old could actually end up being a huge weapon for the Rays in their last week of play and possibly the postseason too.
