Rangers slugger Hamilton plans to see specialist

"Josh Hamilton will visit renowned hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers next week in Philadelphia to determine the extent of the injury that limited him during the Texas Rangers' postseason run.

Hamilton believes he could have a sports hernia. He suffered a torn abdominal muscle in May 2009 that Meyers repaired during a June 2009 operation.

A four-time All-Star, Hamilton said this injury isn't as severe because he was able to continue playing during the postseason. In 2009, Hamilton played 11 games before being put on the disabled list."
