The Rangers scratched RHP Yu Darvish from his scheduled start Tuesday about two hours and 30 minutes prior to game time with what was announced as neck stiffness. RHP Scott Feldman will step in as the spot starter.

According to Rangers officials, Darvish felt the stiffness on Tuesday morning and came to Rangers Ballpark to get treatment. After treatment, the condition persisted and the team opted to scratch him from his start. The club has not announced plans for a rescheduled starting date.

Feldman, 6-11 with a 5.19 ERA, has lost five consecutive decisions since evening his record at 6-6 on August 4. In 11 career starts against Oakland, Feldman is 4-6 with a 7.41 ERA. He did, however, beat the A's on June 28 when he allowed four runs in five innings. It was his first over the A's since May 29, 2009.

Feldman last pitched on Friday at Seattle, going three innings and allowing one hit while striking out five and using just 36 pitches.
