The Rangers — who posted an article on their website yesterday many viewed as sexist — quickly yanked the story less than an hour later after a flood of negative comments.

The posting, which appeared in slideshow form, was entitled "A Girl's Guide to Watching the Rangers" and gave words of advice to female fans on how to watch a hockey game, according to CBS Sports.

"You need to sense the tension in the game and let [the men] do their jumping, screaming and cheering things," the article read. "You can tell if something huge has happened by their reaction, and if you're absolutely lost, wait for the replay. There's always a replay after a major play."

The offensive work also tells women to research the Rangers' roster online in search of handsome players such as goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Another paragraph comforted female non-hockey fans: "If you feel too forced and uninterested, at least know the Rangers' schedule so you can schedule a girl's night for those times."
