"The Rangers await a medical report before deciding the plan for veteran right-hander Brandon Webb.
A scheduled injury-rehabilitation start with Triple-A Round Rock on Friday night was scrubbed when Webb experienced shoulder discomfort while warming up in the bullpen. Daniels indicated the club is willing to stay with Webb as long as he is willing to pursue the goal of pitching in the majors for the first time since opening day 2009 while with Arizona.
"Brandon's frustrated because this hasn't gone the way any of us anticipated," Daniels said. "We have to wait for the medical report to see what our next step will be."
Webb has made four injury-rehab starts with Double-A Frisco, going 0-2 with a 9.75 ERA for 12 innings. He allowed 28 base runners in the starts."
