"Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has been named winner of the 2011 Silver Slugger Award. It is the third career award for Beltre, who was named a Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner Tuesday night.

Beltre was also honored with a Silver Slugger Award in 2004 (Los Angeles) and 2010 (Boston). He is just the sixth player (both leagues) since the award's inception in 1980 to win three times as a third baseman. The only other Texas third baseman to win a Silver Slugger Award was Buddy Bell in 1984."
