"Randy Moss came to Nashville as both a future Hall of Fame wide receiver and a player with a track record of controversial behavior.

Unknown is the impact his larger-than-life presence will have on one of the younger teams in the NFL, both in the locker room and on the field.

The Titans hope it's almost as simple as plugging Moss into the lineup Sunday at Miami, then watching Chris Johnson become a better running back, watching Vince Young become a better quarterback and watching a young receiving corps learn from a master.

Another possibility is that the superstar's huge presence and outspoken nature overwhelm a quarterback still in the growing stages of his professional career and a team missing the kind of veteran leaders it had a year ago.

"A lot of that kind of thing is going to be up to Randy," said CBS NFL analyst Randy Cross, a three-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman during his 13 seasons with the 49ers.

"If he wants to make this work, if he wants to be part of that puzzle, then along with Chris Johnson and Vince Young, they've got a pretty imposing group — if he wants to be a part of that."

Former Ravens Coach Brian Billick took a look into the coupling of Moss and the Titans this week on NFL Network, listing three factors he considered important for Moss to have success in an organization: a team with strength at the head-coaching position, a team headed to the playoffs, and a team with a strong personality at quarterback.

Billick liked what the Titans had in the first two categories, but wondered about the quarterback situation, saying that Kerry Collins had never been known to have an authoritative presence and that Young was still maturing.

Does that mean Young will cringe if Moss complains about not getting enough passes thrown his way? The fifth-year quarterback laughed off such concerns Thursday after practice."
