"Randy Moss has heard the cheers from Tennessee Titans' fans.

When he has given them a reason to cheer, that is.

The veteran wide receiver made it clear Wednesday that he is not necessarily counting down the days remaining in his 13th NFL season so that he might seek another opportunity. In fact, he said he actually would welcome the chance to extend his time with the Titans — his fourth different franchise — beyond this season.

"This organization has been good to me," Moss said in his most expansive comments with local media since he was claimed on waivers Nov. 3. "My production definitely has not been where I want it to be or where this organization wanted my production to be. But when it comes down to it, I think they're happy with where they're at with me and I'm happy with where I'm at.

"Next year, hopefully, if the opportunity presents itself for me to be here, I would love to."

The 33-year-old has just five receptions for 62 yards in six games with the Titans. The last two weeks, he has been the backup to second-year receiver Kenny Britt and has not had a reception — the first time in his career he has gone two in a row without a catch.

In four games at LP Field, Moss has just one reception. That one, a 13-yard gain Dec. 5 against Jacksonville, prompted some in the stadium to chant, "Randy! Randy!"

"Listening to the fans — they're chanting my name," he said. "I want to make plays. I want to bring them out of their seats. That's what I'm used to doing.

"Out of all this stuff that's been going on the last few weeks, that's the only thing that hurts, that I can't go out there and play for the fans because they deserve it."

The Titans have two games remaining — both on the road beginning Sunday at Kansas City (noon, CBS).

Moss' contract expires at the end of the season, which means he will be a free agent. He plans to extend his career, which already rates as one of the best in NFL history. He ranks among the top five all-time in receiving yards and touchdown receptions and is eighth all-time in catches."
