Rams interview two more, await Fisher's answer

"Strange as it seems, two sources confirmed Thursday evening that Jeff Fisher had received no formal contract offers from suitors Miami and St. Louis.

Even so, it would be naïve to think Fisher doesn't have an idea of what the Dolphins or Rams are willing to pay. Compounding matters from a St. Louis standpoint is the fact that Miami owner Stephen Ross just won't go away. He continues to push, and push hard, for Fisher's services, according to NFL sources.

Under a timeline spelled out to the Post-Dispatch on Saturday, Fisher planned to spend Tuesday and Wednesday sorting through noneconomic issues. Apparently, sorting through those issues spilled over into Thursday, meaning Fisher's decision might be delayed by a day or two.

The noneconomic issues might be anything from control over personnel decisions, to coaching staff size, to the ability to hire and fire noncoaching staff employees.

Fisher also has been busy lining up his coaching staff for the 2012 season, be it a season played near South Beach or the Mississippi River.

If Fisher doesn't reach a decision today, any official announcement might spill into Monday, only because the league frowns upon anything detracting attention from playoff football. And there are divisional double-headers Saturday and Sunday.

But with the Fisher Watch now reaching Friday the 13th, the anxiety level among fans and some media members in both cities has increased.

To wit, the headline of a Thursday column in the South Florida Sun Sentinel: Why are the Miami Dolphins letting Jeff Fisher hold them hostage?

Meanwhile in St. Louis, sports fans who recently endured the wrenching free agency decision of Albert Pujols are growing weary of waiting on Fisher."
