Ramirez (3-for-3) stays hot, powers Marlins to third straight win

"The game started with a routine grounder to Hanley Ramirez, only it wasn't routine because Michael Bourn hit it. Ramirez did not acknowledge Bourn's speed and charge the ball, plus he didn't get a good enough grip to make a quick throw.

The ensuing infield hit ignited a two-unearned run Astros' first. Ramirez spent the remainder of Friday's contest making amends.

His game-tying, two-run homer in the bottom half was part of a three-hit, three-RBI game that helped send the Marlins to a 6-3 win over the Astros. The Marlins are on a legitimate winning streak (three games) for the first time since sweeping a three-game set from the Giants May 24-26.

Gaby Sanchez and Mike Stanton each had two hits, and Stanton increased his team-leading RBI count to 51 in support of starter Javier Vazquez. For the third time (second in three starts), Vazquez completed a season-best seven innings.

Ramirez has now hit safely in nine of his last 10 games at a .444 clip (16-for-36) with two doubles, four homers and 13 RBI. Starting with a two-hit game on June 21 against the Angels, Ramirez is 24-for-60 (.400), raising his average 46 points (.246) and on-base plus slugging percentage 120 points (.713).

The three-hit performance was Ramirez's third this month, two more than he totaled in April through June."
