Long snapper Jon Condo signed a three-year contract extension on Sunday afternoon becoming the second specialist to prolong his Raiders tenure in the last three days.

Condo’s deal lasts through the 2016 season. Kicker Sebastian Janikowski signed a four-year extension through 2017 on Friday.

As with Janikowski Condo’s 2013 salary remains unchanged. He’s scheduled to make $1.308 million this season. The terms of his extension were not immediately disclosed.

Condo was happy to get the deal done in camp which avoids the stress that accompanies a contract year.

“It feels great to know that the Raiders wanted me back” Condo said. “I certainly wanted to stay here so it worked out well for everybody. I’m excited to be a part of this team.”

It’s another example of the Raiders using their 2014 salary cap space ahead of schedule. The extensions only affect next year’s numbers while the 2013 cap –- which holds significant dead money and is near max capacity with some room for emergency signings –- remains unchanged.
