Quintin Berry left the game Sunday afternoon in the sixth inning because his knee was sore. Yes, it was the same knee that kept Berry out of action for almost two weeks recently.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland shared the news after the game but didn't go into much detail, and Berry had left the clubhouse by the time media members were done speaking with Leyland.
Therefore, it's unclear how sore Berry's knee was or whether it might keep him out of action in the days to come. But it's definitely not a step in the right direction for Berry, who is far from a lock to make the Opening Day roster for the Tigers at this point.
