"Chris Canty was not very happy the Giants were unable to contain Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers last week.
"We didn't control [his] running," the defensive lineman said yesterday. "He scrambled for first downs. He's able to extend plays. We put a lot of pressure on the guys on the back end. That's something that we've got to clean up and we've got to improve from last week going into this football game."
In Sunday's NFC Championship Game in San Francisco, the Giants will try to control 49ers quarterback Alex Smith, who is definitely a running threat. Rodgers ranked fourth among all NFL quarterbacks this year in rushing yards, and defensive end Dave Tollefson said that, at least when it comes to running, Smith (who ranked ninth among quarterbacks) and Rodgers are similar."
