Verratti played a key role in PSG’s Ligue 1 title win and has attracted interest from several top European clubs.

Paris St Germain are set to offer midfielder Marco Verratti an improved contract to keep the player at the club following a “monstrous offer” from Napoli Sky Sports reports.

The 20 year old signed a five year contract with PSG last summer when he made the move to Paris from Italian club Pescara.

Since then Verratti’s stock has risen dramatically following his excellent performances during PSG’s Ligue 1 title triumph and this has led to interest from a number of European clubs.

Napoli recently made an offer for Verratti with the money that PSG paid them for Edinson Cavani and the French club are worried that more clubs may start bidding for the exciting young midfielder so they are hoping to tie the player down to a more lucrative contract.
